Thunderbird Rewilding Inc. ("Thunderbird Rewilding", "we", "us", "our") is a not-for-profit conservation organisation operating on Tamborine Mountain, Queensland. We are independently governed and proudly connected to the Thunderbird Park legacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Contact details, such as name, email address, and phone number, when you sign up to become a Ranger, register for an event, or contact us directly.
• Booking details, such as which activities or planting days you've registered for, and details relevant to attendance (e.g. whether children will be attending with you).
• Volunteer records, such as attendance at regeneration days, where you've asked us to certify volunteer hours (for example, for Centrelink activity requirements).
• Photos and video, taken at planting days and events for use on our website and social media (see Section 5).
• Website usage data, such as standard technical information like browser type and pages visited, collected via cookies or similar technology.

2. How We Use It

We use your information to:

• Register you as a Ranger and manage your event bookings
• Send you reminders, updates, and information about planting days and activities
• Certify volunteer hours where requested
• Keep our records of who attended each event, for safety and planning purposes
• Share news about our conservation projects, if you've opted in to hear from us

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for anything beyond running our conservation programs and keeping you informed about them.

3. Children and Junior Rangers

Junior Rangers must attend with a responsible adult or guardian at all times. Where we collect information about a child (for example, as part of a family booking), it is provided and managed by that responsible adult, and this policy applies equally to that information.

4. Who We Share It With

We don't share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited information with:

• Service providers who help us run our booking system, email communications or website (bound by their own confidentiality obligations)
• Government agencies, only where required by law, or where you've asked us to confirm volunteer hours on your behalf

5. Photos, Video and Social Media

Our planting days and events are often photographed or filmed for use on our website and social channels (Instagram, Facebook). If you'd prefer not to be photographed, or don't want your child photographed, please let our team know on the day and we'll do our best to accommodate that.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. No online system is completely secure, but we aim to only collect what we need and keep it only as long as necessary.

7. Access and Correction

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and request that we correct or delete it, by getting in touch via our contact page.
